ABOULOMANIA

 Dear Reader,
.
.
.
Saying "Happy New Month" on the 5th day of the month doesn't feel weird and since we haven't met this month, Happy New Month. Here's hoping that you have been faring well and that your year is coming to an end in the way God wants it to.

I'd love to share a story, which will launch me to my topic for today. It is about a young person who was trying to "figure out" life when he got to a 'crossroad'. There were mixed feelings. Moments of indecision, confusion, insecurity, and uncertainty. This affected the person's ability to make minor decisions necessary for their day-to-day activities.

Seemingly little as this might appear, it relates to a condition known as ABOULOMANIA which is a mental disorder characterized by pathological indecisiveness. It can be referred to as the paralysis of the will. It is usually diagnosed alongside other mental disorders such as Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression, or substance abuse.

Patients who suffer from this condition are not able to make decisions or make choices and this leads to prolonged indecisiveness and the inability to function normally over time.
Some presenting symptoms of this condition include; anxiety, high levels of uncertainty, excessive analysis of situations, depending heavily on others for support, and the inability to make decisions.

So far, the most common treatment for this condition is Psychotherapy which is also called talk therapy. It is a variety of treatment techniques that aim to help you identify and change unhealthy emotions, thoughts, and behaviors through having conversations with a mental health professional.

If talk therapy with a professional produces great results, what would you think about talking with God?

I've had so many moments of indecision. Sometimes I make a decision, then regret it immediately. I've also had my "crossroad" moments and I sincerely do not know what choice(s) to make. My solution comes from the greatest therapy - God.
AMP:And your ears will hear a word behind you, saying, This is the way; walk in it, when you turn to the right hand and when you turn to the left. Isaiah 30:21

If psychotherapy has helped patients with aboulomania, then my therapy has worked more effectively and I highly recommend it to you and everyone around.

Today's post is a therapy to everyone who has gotten to a 'crossroad' and needs help knowing which way to turn, either to the left or to the right.
You will hear a voice, it'll be clear, it'll be precise, it'll be what you need per time and per season. Keep trusting, keep hearing.

See you next time!
