MEMORY LOSS
Dear Reader,
Today happens to be one of those long and hectic days. Days when you do not really imagine your schedule to be tiring and draining, but you just come back all weak, and completely drained. Yes, that was what happened to me.
I lost my device just recently, and it wasn't a fun experience. Everything happened so fast that I didn't even know how I felt. I was stranded and confused. I know that I was hoping to get a better device soon, but I also didn't want to lose the one I was using the way I lost it. In fact, I cried after the incident 😄😅
Thankfully, I didn't have to stay without a device for long as God used my Dad to provide another one. I was happy and I tried to activate it and get things back to normal... That was when it began to dawn on me that I had lost almost everything in my former device. My pictures, my chats, my random notes, my messages, and almost everything I had stored in the phone all the while I used it. It felt like a part of my memories was lost. It took a while to process it, to understand what was going on, and to really accept the new reality, but I did, painfully while being thankful.
This had me wondering how people who lose their memory feel. "Memory loss” is a broad term for any issue with forming, storing, or recalling memories [Cleveland Clinic]. Memory loss can be acute and happen suddenly. It can also be progressive, meaning it happens repetitively and worsens gradually over time.
Acute memory loss: Commonly known as amnesia, this usually happens because of a sudden illness, injury or other events that disrupt your memory processes.
Progressive memory loss: This is memory loss that happens gradually. It’s sometimes a symptom of a degenerative brain disease.
Even for those who do not suffer from memory loss, you all will agree with me that we sometimes need constant reminders, daily affirmations, check-ups, and the like. The Bible says "So I will always remind you of these things, even though you know them and are firmly established in the truth you now have. I think it is right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of this body" ( 2 Peter 1:12-13 NIV)

Memory loss is usually not a pleasant experience especially for those living with the patients. It can be frustrating, and annoying. These people need one thing: constant reminders!

As you read, this is my way of also reminding you, and refreshing your memory about God's love and faithfulness. You might not be suffering from memory loss, but you might have been carried away by the circumstances surrounding you such that you are forgetting all that God has done. Can you take a minute and remind yourself about all the moments God came through for you? Thank Him for that moment. After you've done that, remind someone to also remember the same and let's spread the ripple effect of remembrance.
As you carry on this week, I hope that you take a pause amidst your busy schedule to recall, remember, and refresh your memory of God's love and faithfulness. I pray that it makes you smile, and gives you more strength to forge ahead.
Thank you for reading, and have a blessed week!
PS: I might not continue posting bi-weekly, but I promise to always show up here.
Today's blog post came after typing and deleting and restarting and deciding for the 1000th time. I hope it blessed you regardless!

Thank you for reminding us of the love of God we have forgotten but has not forgotten us 💕🥲
