FEAR, FAITH, OR FIBRILLATION?

Dear Reader,

I'm sorry for ghosting without prior information and without communicating at all. It wasn't intentional. I have been struggling with my phone for a while now and posting can be quite frustrating as a result. School also wasn't all soft and rosy, but thank God that we survived.

Today's post is a "joint" piece. I'll be sharing my 2 cents and also blessing you all with a lovely piece from my friend, Eni❤️.

Fear, Faith, or Fibrillation?

I had the privilege of standing before a large crowd some time back this year. By large, I mean ranging from 1000 or more in my church. Being on stage isn't alien to me but I found that particular experience quite disturbing. To be honest, fear had the better part of me and while I tried to study what I was going to say, I felt my heart beat about 500 times per minute, and with so many irregularities❗πŸ˜‚

That was how tensed I was. And yes, maybe that scenario gives an idea of what "Fibrillation" entails. It can be seen as an irregular heart rhythm that begins in the upper chambers of your heart (atria). In atrial fibrillation, the heart's electrical system doesn't function as it should. This leads to the sending of many heart signals at the same time. This ultimately results in a fast and irregular heartbeat which can be extremely dangerous.

Now, I did not experience fibrillation during my speaking engagement. I just felt so scared that I thought I could faint. My resolve? I uttered a prayer asking God to calm me down and everything eventually turned out beautifulπŸ€—πŸŒΉ

My friend Eni wrote a piece about faith and it seemed in sync with what I had in mind today. Faith they say is not the absence of fear, but having the courage to step forward knowing who you are moving with. The next paragraph will contain her message to us.

"I've heard this word called Faith. A word with just five letters but which can move mountains, and tell a mountain to fall into the sea. Hebrews 11:1 defines Faith as 'the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen' KJV.

So many times, we base our faith on how we feel, and that is not faith but imagination. Faith ought to be based on God's word. Let it be that what triggers your faith is the Word of God.

The woman with the issue of blood had faith. She said "If I can just touch the hem of his garment, I'll be made whole", and she was made whole. The centurion whose servant was sick met with Jesus and asked if his servant could be healed. Jesus was about to go to the centurion's house but the centurion said that Jesus should just say a word and at that instance, the servant got healed because of the word: that was faith.

Kenneth Hagin said, "If your faith is not growing that means your understanding of God's word is not growing." If you know that God's word is true then you will read it to understand it and act upon the word you've read and understood by faith.

A lot of things can hinder your faith from being evident and one of the hindrances is when you don't walk in love. Father Abraham had faith and that faith was triggered by love. If he didn't love God he wouldn't have had faith that Isaac would be born. If you love someone, you would trust that person.

Show me your faith, and I'll show you my faith through work. There is something that has to be done for your faith to work. You need to study God's word daily and consistently. Next, believe everything in the word because it is God's letter to you. Act upon every word that you've gotten from reading the word and your faith will get stronger.

HAVE FAITH AND NOT FEAR"

So while I was busy with Fear and the feeling of Fibrillation, Eni was building Faith, and maybe you should do the same.

In the struggle between the three, I'd advise that you let Faith win and watch how things unfold eventually.

Thank you Eni for sharing, thank you all for reading, and I wish you all a "Faith-full" week.

  2. Now, this is yet timely.
Though it's the weekend, I'll choose to push through it, in faith that it'll calm my fibrillations.
