HUNGRY?!
One evening during this fasting period as I walked through Bauchi Road, I saw so many "Almajiri" children struggling to get food from a vehicle to break their fast. From the way they struggled and the small quantity of food being shared, I knew that so many of them were hungry and the food was not going to sufficiently satisfy their hunger.
It reminded me of a very busy day I had some time ago. I was so busy and occupied that I forgot to eat. By the time I got back, I was too hungry to cook something and too weak to even stand so I took water and slept.😅
Someone reading this blog post may have never been "hungry" before. When I mention the word "Hungry", I mean intense, gut-wrenching hunger. The type that would embarrass you in public and make you just want to find something to eat. The type that would leave you shaky and very weak such that you might not even have enough strength to do anything.
If you have experienced such before, then you will relate 💯 to what I am talking about, and if your hunger experience hasn't been that intense, at least you've been mildly hungry so you know what it feels like to be hungry.
While reading my Bible sometime back, I came across Psalm 107:9 "for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things" NIV. Today's post is not about thirst so I'll leave that for the next blog post and just focus on the hunger part.
The Bible passage made me think of the countless times I've had people (friends, siblings, coursemates, and just random people) buy me food, good food and how grateful I always am to know that they want me to eat good and healthy food. If I appreciate these gestures so much, then I am reminded that I have a God who also fills the hungry with good things. The depth of my thoughts surpassed my physical hunger and made me understand that God also satisfies my spiritual hunger with "good things" found in His Word.
It spurred me and encouraged my heart because I realized that I could always table my "hunger complaints" to God and watch him fill me up and satisfy my heart. It also challenged me because lately, I've been having some problems that I didn't table before God. I mean, why not let him know and see how he satisfies that problem his own way?
Dear Reader, I don't know what your "Hunger" might be or what thing you specifically are dealing with at the moment. I just need to remind you that we have a God who fills the hungry with good things, or better still the best things. If you think it's not true, give it a try and watch how things will unravel. I pray that God fills your hunger and gives you a reason to come back to him.🙏
If you've read to this point, please pause in your heart and say a prayer for those who are mourning the loss of their loved ones. Also, feel free to drop your comments and share this post with someone who is hungry.

🙏🙏
