HEART SWAP
I almost typed "Hi guys, welcome to my YouTube channel" because somewhere in my head, this is supposed to be oneπ
Anyways, welcome to today's blog post, Dear Reader. I hope that you've been faring just fine and doing well.
The whole concept of organ transplant used to sound so distant and abstract to me. I always used to imagine it as something for white guys, and very very rich politicians. I mean, wetin concern street person with organ transplant? It was a "billionaire" concept until I met someone who had undergone a kidney transplant. I can almost bet you that this person looked fatter, fresher, and healthier than I looked.π€§ Not to say I look bad oh, but if someone had not told me that was a transplant patient, I certainly wouldn't have imagined the person to be one.
Organ transplantation is a surgical process of replacing a failing organ with a healthy one from someone else who does not need it. Some organs that are regularly transplanted include; the kidney, liver, heart, lungs, and uterus. Tissues can also be transplanted and some of them include; bones, cornea, cartilage, blood vessels, and ligaments.
As a result of how sensitive organ transplantation is, the level of safety, quality, and efficacy of the transplant needs to be carefully followed up. Patients are required to take immunosuppressants such as Tacrolimus and Mycophenolate mofetil to prevent their body systems from rejecting the new organ. You know this whole antigen-antibody interaction that happens as a result of a foreign body intruding on the body, let me not confuse my "non-science" readers but when a new organ is being transplanted, the body of the recipient tends to reject it seeing it as "strange". When that happens, it's always a bad situation.
That being said, 1 Cor. 2:16b "... But we understand these things, for we have the mind of Christ." Wait❗❗Now read that passage again, slowly and loudly. "...we have the mind of Christ" which means that Christ donated his mind to us. You know we cannot have his mind if he didn't donate it. So, suffice it to say that Jesus Christ donated his mind for us and we are his mind recipients. This implies that we have a lot to do in order not to reject his mind. Humanly, we ordinarily should see his mind as 'strange' and refuse to accept it. Our human minds tend to reject the Christ-like mind because they are incompatible. Some of the immunosuppressants that we will need to take to accept the Christ mind include; daily study of the Word and fellowship with him. Just like the healthy and good-looking transplant patient I had met, we can also be like him when we adhere to our rules.
You see, the issue of mind transplant cannot be fully explained in today's post so permit me to continue from here next week.
In the meantime, I urge you to reflect on the fact that you're a recipient of Christ's mind and to consciously adhere to all that is required of you. Till then, stay healthy and remain blessed.

Thank you ma!
