DONATED HEART

Dear Reader,

Welcome to the last day of July, and happy August in advance๐Ÿ˜Š. How has it been so far? I mean how has life been with you, and how has the journey been on the blog? I'd love to have you share with me how it has been so far through the comment section.

So we looked at the concept of organ transplant and how Jesus Christ donated his heart(mind) to us the last time. We established how the human body ordinarily rejects a new organ, and how we also have the tendency to reject our new organ because the flesh is constantly at war with the Spirit.

Romans 8:7 explains this better. It says "the mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God: it does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so" NIV

To be "hostile" means to be aggressive, antagonistic, or not friendly to someone or something. So you see, our human minds naturally antagonize the things of God, causing us to aggressively reject the new mind Christ donates to us.

We mentioned the last time also that immunosuppressive drugs are administered continuously to patients who undergo organ transplants to help their bodies "accept" and get used to the new organs right? These people have to live on these drugs for life because once they stop, their bodies tend to reject the organ. Well, the same happens to us. No wonder Ephesians 4:23 says "And be constantly renewed in the Spirit of your mind [having a fresh mental and spiritual attitude]"AMP. The word to focus on here is "constantly". It means faithfully, continuously, regularly, or incessantly.

The renewal of our minds is never an occasional or optional process. It is one which we have to carry out faithfully and incessantly. Romans 12:2 says "Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing and perfect will of God" CSB

We have to note therefore that this journey called "Christianity" is possible because we have a donor who gave his heart for us and expects that we maximize it, take good care of it, and treat it as the gold that it is.

Dear Reader, I hope that we've made a little sense today, and that no matter what happens you never take your new organ for granted.

PS: I'd really appreciate your comments, reviews and criticisms. Please do well to drop them.

  1. This is making so much sense ๐Ÿ˜Š. Renewing our minds daily. Generally, Christianity is not just a religion, it is a way of life so one has to constantly take dressing. May God help us.
The blog has been enlightening, you succeed in making so much meaning out of little. Well done ma, more grace.

  2. We now have the mind of Christ, for He has taken away the Stony heart and has now given us a heart of flesh.

Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus. Phillipians 2:5.
    Emphasis on "be"
