BRAIN VS HEART
I'm quite excited about today's blog post because, for the first time, I'm featuring someone special and dear to me. My friend and coursemate, Stephanie of Green Eden Farms wrote something special about the brain and the heart. She's a poet and creative writer, so please open your mind and journey with her as you read. Enjoy...
"I’ve always been intrigued by the heart and the brain. Both organs, powerful and kings of their art, none a protΓ©gΓ© to the other.
I’ve always been held captive by the power they wield, for though they are beautiful in their intricately woven anatomy, their pathology can be equally ugly.
As of 2019, statistics showed that about 0.070% of the world’s population suffered from heart conditions, that’s a lot of people from the then 7 billion.
In 2021, Lancet Neurology stated that more than 3 billion people worldwide were living with neurological conditions. And best believe there is a large percentage here who are oblivious of this state of their health.
Like emotions, we can’t handle the issues of the heart without the brain, it’s often a rarity for the nerves of the brain to sync with the rhythm of the heart, that unity in decisions which either tells the doctor (medical or psychological) that you’re healing is usually the best thing that a person could experience.
The heart refers to the part of a human that controls the desires, emotions, hopes, dreams, and other intangible parts of our being. The brain, or what the Bible sometimes refers to as the 'mind' typically refers to the part of a human that controls the intellect, reason, and thoughts.
Paul the Apostle knew that the heart and the brain (mind) were distinct, yet interconnected, that was why he wrote "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" Phil. 4:7 ESV.
So while you wade through the waters of life, protect your heart and your brain.
Till the next time I’m privileged to drop sage quotes, stay healthy folks."
I have nothing more to add, dear readers, or dear 'folks' as my guest calls you allπ . Thank you for the charge and for dishing from your wealth of knowledge, Steph. We hope to have you more often. PS: She runs a farm called Green Eden Farms. Check her out on all social media platforms and see the amazing things she does.
May the peace of God keep your hearts and your brains healthy. See you againπ
