GOOD HEALTH

Happy Valentine's Day, dear reader.

Here's me sending you all the love I have in my heart, but hoping that you understand that it doesn't compare one bit to the love that Christ has for you and all that you embody.

I struggled to come up with a name for this blog for a very long time as every possible name seemed to have one fault or the other. The more names I tried to think of, the more they did not seem to perfectly convey what I had in mind. When I finally settled on 'Health Talks with Diyenau', the name seemed too broad and I wondered how much of it I could possibly cover.

I decided to check what the word "Health" means. The World Health Organization defines "Health" as a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. This definition was as of 1948, and well, this is 2024 so we should expect one or two changes.

In my thoughts and for the sake of this blog, I decided to define Health as 'a state of complete physical, mental, emotional, social, psychological,  and spiritual wellbeing of an individual and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity'. If there is a physical wellbeing, then there should be a spiritual wellbeing as well. Don't we always say that life has two extremes? I mean, if there is a Tom, then there should be a Jerry. If there is a black, then there should be a white.

So with this, I hope that you understand what this blog will have in store for you. We will try as much as possible to cover your physical, mental, emotional, social, psychological, and most importantly but often neglected, your spiritual well-being.

I choose to end today's post with the words of John the Apostle in 3 John 1:3 "Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you, and that you may be in GOOD HEALTH, as it goes well with your soul"(ESV).

PS: Posts will be made biweekly for now, and any other change(s) will be communicated.

  2. It's rare to see people acknowledge spiritual well-being as part of good health, thank you so much for doing this.
I'm eagerly anticipating all the wonderful ideas I'll be learning here.
