CRAZY MIND, OR NOT?

Good afternoon, dear reader๐Ÿค—

It's been a long and boring day. I hope you are enjoying your day, and I hope that your week is pulling through just fine.

So let's paint a very familiar scenario in our heads of the moment(s) when we seem to be extremely scared and uncertain about how things might turn out for us. Those moments of frustration, moments when you are scared, timid, and uncertain you do not know if you have enough courage to even walk down the road. You know, I can't mention all those "moments" but I'm sure we've all had a fair share of them at one point or the other in our lives because we cannot avoid them.

I call those moments the period(s) when our minds are "crazy". This means that our minds are unsound, unstable, or sickly. It means that we cannot get ourselves to do anything, and even if we manage to, we do not score them as perfectly as we ordinarily should, or we doubt that we are doing it right. We feel like our courage has abandoned us because maybe it has. The interesting part of this is that a crazy mind affects the body. Little wonder why health professionals advise that we take our mental health seriously.

A little switch to young Pastor Timothy who was going through "crazy moments" in the book of 2 Timothy chapter 1. In his crazy moment, he received a letter from Paul his father, mentor, and discipler. You know what, Paul told him "for God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love, and of a sound mind". (2 Tim. 1:7 KJV). Those were the perfect words he needed at that point in his life and ministry.

So you see, your crazy moment might be fear, it might be depression, doubt, or any other thing that takes your courage away from you. The good news is that you have the spirit of power and a sound mind. Sound mind means a mind that has been "rescued, revived, and protected, such that it is no longer affected by fear, timidity or illogical thoughts". It is a mind constantly guarded by the Word of God which causes it to operate differently. We cannot talk extensively about sound mind today, but we will subsequently as time goes on. For today, I choose to mention the healthy state of your "Mind" and I hope that you choose every day to pick the "Sound Mind and Power" the Holy Spirit gives over fear and timidity.

Your mind is your superpower, and you should not lose it for anything. I'll see you again in the next two weeks, but I'll be glad to read your story in the comments.

Promise me you won't lose your mind, will you? Cheers to a spirit-controlled sound mind, dear reader.

    1. Yes, ma'am.
We cannot expect general well-being when the mind is sick. And then sound mind comes from the Holy Spirit and then translates to the physical.
      Thank you for this.
