GOOD MEDICINE

Dear Reader, Today happens to be one of those Wednesdays where you're totally engaged and you somehow do not manage to have time to write until it's late in the night, but it's still Wednesday so there's still a chance to come up with something.  Before I continue, how are you doing? I hope that you're fine, hale and hearty. And if you have by chance been on medications, I hope that you are faithful in taking them.  About medicines and medications, a lot of times when we fall sick we quickly try to see a doctor, or visit a nearby pharmacy to get medications or what we call " medicines ". The dictionary defines medicine as 'a substance which promotes healing when ingested or consumed in some way'. It can also be seen as 'something that treats or alleviates the symptoms of disease'. It means that medicines are quite important factors in healing, and it is therefore important that we take medicines when we are sick. It is worth noting though, ...

PLEASANT WORDS

Dear Reader, "Pleasant words are as a honeycomb, sweet to the mind and healing to the body". Prov. 16:24 AMP   I feel like the Bible passage already explains what today's post should be all about.  It's quite interesting to know that bodily healing does not only come through medications, in fact, we always have non-pharmacological interventions or treatments for almost every disease.  Today's intervention happens to be "the use of pleasant words". No matter how macho and hardcore someone appears to be, the use of pleasant words often tends to create a form of delight and calmness.  A little research on the origin of the word "pleasant" as used in the passage shows that it was coined from the Hebrew word "Noam" which means beautiful, pleasant, and delightful.
